Ileana Steccolini Starts a Special Interest Group for IRSPM

The new Accounting and Accountability group of the International Research Society of Public Management

Ileana Steccolini (Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management and SDA Bocconi) has constituted an Accounting and Accountability Special Interest Group within the International Research Society of Public Management. The group has been approved by IRSPM board, of which she is part, in occasion of the annual conference of the Society, that was held in Rome, April 11th to 13th.

Promoter of the group together with Giuseppe Grossi (Högskolan Kristianstad), Steccolini is now chair: her first aim as person in charge will be to widen and improve its activities.

The group’s main purpose is to offer a relevant contribution to the international debate on the role of accounting and performance measurement systems, on their evolutionary paths as well as on how they can answer the current challenge of financial sustainability. From a practice perspective, the group aims at developing and disseminating the knowledge of accounting to the widest audience encouraging the publication of high quality research papers.

A specific focus will be dedicated to encourage an increasing number of academics of this field to become members of the IRSPM, ensuring that different views, approaches and experiences are represented in the relative panels and providing opportunities for joint research among IRSPM members, especially among academics from different countries.
