AlpPop, Population Scientists Meet at La Thuile

INTERDISCIPLINARITY IS THE DISTINCTIVE FEATURE OF THE WINTER CONFERENCE ORGANIZED BY THE DONDENA CENTRE JOINTLY WITH THE SWISS LIVES

Alps are the place, population is the topic, interdisciplinarity is the method. For the fifth time in a row AlpPop, the winter gathering of population scientists, will take place in La Thuile on 25-28 January 2015.  The Dondena Centre for Research on Social Dynamics and Public Policy organizes the event jointly with LIVEs – Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research.

Psychology, economics, sociology and demography are some of the sciences represented and Dondena’s Arnstein Aasve, head of the Organizing Committee, attributes much of its success to the possibility of interaction between scholars who study the same topic from different angles.

Families and couples; Social interactions; Minorities; Children; Migration are the titles of the five main sessions.
