THE AMERICAN ECONOMIC ASSOCIATION HAS APPOINTED PROFESSOR TABELLINI AND HIS LONGTIME COAUTHOR TORSTEN PERSSON FOREIGN HONORARY MEMBERS

Guido Tabellini, Intesa Sanpaolo Chair in Political Economics, is the recipient of the American Economic Association (AEA) Foreign Honorary Members Award. The award is presented to foreign economists of distinction. Honorees are elected by the American Economic Association’s Executive Committee.

Stockholm University’s Torsten Persson, a Swedish scholar who has extensively worked with Prof. Tabellini on political economics, has also been awarded.

Since 1976, only 40 foreign economists have been acknowledged Foreign Honorary Members by the American Economic Association. Prof. Tabellini is the first Italian scholar to receive the award.
