Ian Ross Macmillan, a Sociologist at Bocconi

A new professor from University of Minnesota

Ian Ross Macmillan leaves the position of director of the Life Course Center at University of Minnesota’s Department of Sociology and joins Bocconi’s Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management as professor in the academic year 2011-2012.
Macmillan’s research interests include life course studies, social demography, research methodology & social statistics and sociology of health and epidemiology.
He’s been the recipient of various grants from the National Institutes of Health, the Consortium for Children, Youth, and Family, the National Institute of Justice, the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development, the National Science Foundation, and other academic institutions.
He sits on the editorial boards of Advances in Life Course Research, Journal of Marriage and Family, Journal of Quantitative Criminology and Social Forces.
