Selim Gulesci, a Young Economist from LSE

He joins the Department of Economics

Development economics is the primary research interest of Selim Gulesci, the young Turk who joins Bocconi’s Department of Economics as assistant professor, starting from the academic year 2011-2012, after having attended the PhD program at London School of Economics and Political Science with a thesis about poverty, risk and occupational choice.

Many of his papers (the job market one included) present evidence collected in Bangladesh, while Turkey and Africa are the subjects of others.

He is co-author of an article (Intentions to Participate in Adolescent Training Programs: Evidence from Uganda) published by Journal of the European Economic Association.
