Bocconi on Women: Twenty Paths to Gender Studies

A workshop promoted by Bocconi Equal Opportunity Committee shows the width and depth of Bocconi approaches to the field

Some analyze the role of women in local politics and the relation between gender quotas and the quality of politicians, others study female forms of leadership, work attitudes, flexible working and glass ceilings in boards of directors, SMEs, university enrolment, or the way in which gender equality affects fertility.

With the presentation of 20 papers by Bocconi scholars (16 at the main session and four at a poster session) the Bocconi on Women workshop, on November 4th, 2011, has been the most convincing proof of the width and depth of Bocconi multifaceted approach to gender studies and a result of the activity of Bocconi Equal Opportunity Committee.

“Promoting research and analysis needed for creating environmental measures, able to create conditions of equality is one of the goals of the Commitee”, Paola Dubini, the coordinator, says.

“There has been a call for papers, with the result that now we have a clear idea of Bocconi scholars research interests in the field”, Amelia Compagni, a member of the Committee says.
