Francesco Billari Awarded by the Population Association of America

With the Clogg Award for "outstanding innovative scholarly achievements"

Francesco Billari (Centro Dondena and Department of Policy analysis and Public Management) received the “Clifford C. Clogg Award for Early Career Achievment” at the 2012 Annual Meeting of the Population Association of America (PAA) on May 4th in San Francisco.

The Clogg Award is a biannual award for mid-career scholars, which "honors outstanding innovative scholarly achievements of population professionals who have attained their highest professional degree within the previous 20 years".

PAA, according to its website, “is a nonprofit, scientific, professional organization established to promote the improvement, advancement and progress of the human race through research of problems related to human population”. PAA members (around 3,000) include demographers, sociologists, economists, public health professionals, and other individuals interested in research and education in the population field.
