Burak Oc, from Barcelona to Milan via Singapore

A NEW ASSISTANT PROFESSOR FOR THE DEPARTMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND TECHNOLOGY

Burak Oç enters the Department of Management and Technology as an Assistant Professor from September 2014. Oç comes from Universitat Pompeu Fabra of Barcelona, where he has just obtained his PhD in Management with the dissertation The Dynamic Interplay between Leaders and Followers. From 2011 to 2014 he has also been a Visiting Scholar at the Singapore Management University. His research examines how followers actively shape leaders’ behavior through a process of social influence, and how different leadership styles, in turn, shape followers’ perceptions over time.

After graduating in Industrial Engineering at the Istanbul Technical University (2007), Oç moved to Barcelona, where he obtained a Master in Management from the Universitat Pompeu Fabra (2010). Then, from 2011, he has taught Leadership and Teambuilding at the Singapore University.
