Piero Stanig: a new Assistant Professor for PAM

The scholar comes from the Hertie School of Governence of Berlin

Starting from September 1st 2014, Piero Stanig enters as an Assistant Professor the Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management of Bocconi University. He comes from the Hertie School of Governace of Berlin, where he has been a research fellow since 2011.

Previously, Stanig held a fellowship at the London School of Economics (2008-2011) and a research fellowship at the New York University (2007-2008).

After graduating with laude in Political Sciences from Unversità degli Studi di Trieste (2000) with a dissertation on the Basque nationalism, Stanig moved to Columbia University, where he obtained first a M. A. (2002), then a Master of Philosophy (2005) and in the end a PhD (2009) with the dissertation Essays on Political Corruption and Media Freedom.

His works have been published on several leading scientific journals, asthe American Journal of Political Sciences. Besides Italian, he's fluent in English, Spanish, Portuguese and Catalan.
