Annalisa Prencipe Awarded in the Name of Donato Menichella

AT THE CHAMBER OF DEPUTIES LIBRARY, THE ACCOUNTING SCHOLAR HAS RECEIVED THE AWARD DEDICATED TO THE HISTORICAL GOVERNOR OF THE BANK OF ITALY

Annalisa Prencipe (Department of Accounting) is one of the two winners of the 18th Donato Menichella Prize, presented on Friday, 13 April, at Palazzo San Macuto, in the library of the Chamber of Deputies.

The prize, awarded each year by the Fondazione Nuove Proposte Culturali, chaired by Elio Germano Greco, aims to give recognition to scholars and financial institutions that have promoted projects that contributed to the growth of the country, while honoring Donato Menichella (1896-1984), governor of the Bank of Italy from 1948 to 1960.

The award was given to Prencipe, says the motivation, "for having contributed, through her research and teaching, to promote the values of transparency and integrity, thus becoming a reference point in the national and international academic communities”.

Among the winners of past editions, there are such names as Pierluigi Ciocca, Mario Sarcinelli, Paolo Baratta, Paolo Savona, Valerio Onida or Anna Maria Tarantola. Together with Annalisa Prencipe, was awarded the central director of Ubi Banca, Nunzio Tartaglia, a Bocconi alumnus.

In collecting the award, Prencipe delivered a speech entitled The future of university education in economics and management, in which she illustrated the effects of digital disruption and suggested ways of reacting that universities should put into practice.
