Sandro Castaldo President of the Italian Society of Management

HIS THREE YEAR MANDATE IS TO ACCELERATE THE PROCESS OF INTERNATIONALIZATION OF THE SCIENTIFIC SOCIETY OF ITALIAN MANAGEMENT PROFESSORS

The Board of Directors of the Società Italiana di Management (Italian Society of Management, SIMA), the scientific society of Italian management professors, appointed Sandro Castaldo, Full Professor at the Bocconi’s Department of Marketing, as President at its meeting on 11 July.
 
Established in 2013, SIMA has 500 members, which is a large majority of Italian management professors. Prof. Castaldo has already served on the society's Board of Directors and has been its Secretary General, with responsibility for internationalization, for the last three years.
 
«My mandate is to continue the work on internationalization already carried out as Secretary General», explains Prof. Castaldo. «We have launched partnerships with the European Academy of Management (EURAM) and with the Academy of Management (AoM). The theme of the AoM Annual Conference, from 9 to 13 August in Boston, is 'Understanding the Inclusive Organization' and we will be present with a workshop entitled 'Inclusive Academies', in which we will discuss what scientific societies can do, in terms of research and teaching, to improve inclusion and enhance diversity in the academic world».
 
Prof. Castaldo's term of office is three years. He succeeds Alberto Pastore, who has led SIMA since its foundation.
 
In the same occasion, Prof. Salvatore Vicari (Department of Management and Technology) has been appointed in SIMA’s college of the “wise men” (probiviri), an arbitration body for questions related to the society’s charter.
