Bocconi Crowns 40 Research Champions

THIRTY SEVEN OF THEM HAVE PUBLISHED IN THE MOST PRESTIGIOUS JOURNALS IN THE WORLD, THREE HAVE BEEN RECOGNIZED FOR THE IMPACT OF THEIR STUDIES

Last year, 37 Bocconi professors published in journals that the University considers the most important for the disciplines studied and taught at the University. Nine of them managed to publish two articles. The Dean of Research, Jerome Adda, awarded them (virtually) the Research Excellence Awards during the last Faculty Council.

The 37 award-winning professors are: Carlo Baldassi, Anthony Bertelli, Emanuele Borgonovo, Giulia Cappelalro, Elena Carletti, Fabrizio Castellucci, Simone Cerreia-Vioglio, Cassandra Chambers, Mariano Max Croce, Francesco Decarolis, Sandeep Pillai, Daniele Durante, Nilanjana Dutt, Andrea Fosfuri, Nicola Gennaioli, Cedric Gutierrez, Alexander Kentikelenis, Dovev Lavie, Fabio Maccheroni, Myriam Mariani, Massimo Marinacci, Antonio Marra, Lanny Martin, Andrea Ordanini, Marco Ottaviani, Fabrizio Perretti, Silvio Petriconi, Paolo Pinotti, Peter Pope, Anne Jacqueminet, Giuseppe Soda, Marco Tortoriello, Antonella Trigari, Diego Ubfal, Giacomo Zanella and Riccardo Zecchina.

On the same occasion, the Award for Research Impact and the Legal Studies Award were also assigned. The Award for Research Impact, reserved for studies published 3 to 7 years before the award, was given to Mara Cameran and Annalisa Prencipe for a study on mandatory audit firm rotation and audit quality, published in 2016 in the European Accounting Review. The paper, reads the explanatory statement, "was used by several regulatory bodies and professional associations to support the view that mandatory audit firm rotation is not beneficial to audit quality”.

The Legal Studies Award, awarded in recognition of the quality of a paper, went to Chiara Mosca for a study on behind-the-scenes contacts between directors and shareholders, published in 2018 in the European Company and Financial Law Review.
