Oreste Pollicino Wins the Senior Scholar Prize

Morelli, Full Professor at Università degli Studi di Messina, received the prestigious Senior Scholar Prize by the American Society of Comparative Law for their article Metaphors, Judicial Frames and Fundamental Right in Cyberspace, published in the top-tier journal The American Journal of Comparative Law.
Professor Pollicino and Morelli are the first Italians to be awarded with this prize.
“This article highlights the importance of metaphor in constitutional law and particularly in digital law,” according to Professor Pollicino. “Metaphor has not only an accessorial value, but also a constitutive value in language and law. The American Society of Comparative Law (ASCL) is the leading organization promoting the study of comparative law. ASCL was founded in 1951 with the purposes “to promote the comparative study of law and the understanding of foreign legal systems; to establish, maintain and publish without a profit a comparative law journal; and to provide for research and the publication without profit of writings, books, papers and pamphlets relating to comparative, foreign or private international law.”
ASCL’s prizes recognize exceptional publications and other contributions by comparative law scholars. Specifically, the Senior Scholar Prize is awarded for the best scholarly article published in a recent volume of The American Journal of Comparative Law.
