Bocconi Signs a Collaboration Agreement with CNR

THE FRAMEWORK AGREEMENT WITH THE NATIONAL RESEARCH COUNCIL OF ITALY SETS THE STAGE FOR FUTURE COOPERATIVE RESEARCH PROJECTS

Bocconi University and the National Research Council of Italy (CNR) have signed an agreement to foster the start and development of cooperative research projects between the two organizations. In this way, the University and the CNR set a formal groundwork for greater mutual collaboration in research, development and innovation activities.

In practice, this collaboration is intended to promote, among other things, the definition of medium-term research programs and the development of research, development and innovation projects for a joint participation in European Framework Programs, the study and testing of innovative services for the exploitation of research results, technology transfer and the financing of start-ups, and the promotion of activities for the dissemination of scientific and technological culture.

The implementation of research projects, training and higher education activities, as well as the initiatives aimed at the exploitation of scientific research results and other activities of common interest will be the object of specific operational agreements, listing the scientific structures of each institution involved in the joint project or initiative.

The first of these agreements covers the FOSSR (Fostering Open Science in Social Science Research) project, coordinated for Bocconi by Letizia Mencarini of the Department of Social and Political Sciences, which aims to improve the European infrastructure in the field of data for the social sciences by developing synergies among existing programs to ensure that national and European policymaking rests on a solid base of socioeconomic data of the highest quality. Among these programs is the GGP (Generations and Gender Program), of which Bocconi is a member.
