Andrea Ordanini Developmental Editor of the Journal of Marketing

DEVELOPMENTAL EDITORS PROVIDE ADVICE TO THE AUTHORS OF GOODBUT UNFIT PAPERS ON HOW TO IMPROVE THEIR WORK

Andrea Ordanini,BNP Paribas Chair in Marketing & Service Analytics, recently joined the Editorial Board of the Journal of Marketing (JM), commonly regarded as the field's flagship journal.

In addition, he became one of the journal's 10 Developmental Editors, a newly established role that aims to support papers with potential, but not in line with the journal, in order to improve them and increase future chances of publication. “Often there are promising authors who, however, may notbe fully aware of the criteria necessary for prestigious publication. The idea is to provide advice to the author on how to improve the paper, almost as if it was our own,” Professor Ordanini says. “I am excited about this initiative and the opportunity to provide my expertise to help others achieve positive results.”

For the past several years, Prof. Ordanini has served as a reviewer for the Journal of Marketing and was selected as Developmental Editor also for his ability to provide constructive feedback.

JM develops and disseminates knowledge on marketing topics useful to scholars, educators, managers, policy makers, consumers and other societal stakeholders worldwide. Since its founding in 1936, JM has played a significant role in shaping the content and boundaries of the marketing discipline.
