The Choices of Ioannis

, by Bojana Murisic
An expert of consumer behavior, new Department of Marketing assistant professor Ioannis Evangelidis, in his spare time, chooses metal music

Ioannis Evangelidis will be joining the Bocconi Department of Marketing as an assistant professor in the academic year 2015-2016. He obtained his Ph.D. degree in Marketing at Erasmus University in Rotterdam.

While at Bocconi, Ioannis' hands will be busy with work on consumer decision-making and in particular, on how contextual factors influence choice behavior. Although his co-workers are mostly in America, he expects to start some interesting collaborations with his new colleagues at Bocconi.

Ioannis will be teaching a basic marketing course and a new elective course for students in the Bachelor of Economics, Arts, and Culture program. "In the class called 'Communication and Cultural Consumption Decisions' students will learn to apply state-of-the-art academic research on topics such as communication, persuasion, decision-making, and happiness in cultural and creative industry contexts."

There are two things Ioannis cannot wait to do in Milan: watch Inter-Milan soccer games and pursue his interest in metal music. Ever since he was a kid, Ioannis has been an avid fan of metal music and a regular concertgoer. "Milan has a vibrant metal scene, so I used to fly regularly from Athens to Milan to attend metal concerts."
