Bocconi alumna Stefania Gerevini returns to the University as Assistant Professor

Graduated cum laude at Università Bocconi in Economics for arts, culture and communication, Stefania Gerevini earned her PhD in History of Art at the Courtauld Institute of Art, London. After carrying out teaching and research activities at Courtauld, at the Kunsthistorisches Institut in Florence and at the IMT Institute for Advanced Studies in Lucca, she is currently Assistant Director of the British School at Rome. Starting from academic year 2015-2016, Stefania Gerevini will join the Department of Policy Analysis and Public Management as Assistant Professor and she will be teaching Method, Critique and Research in Artistic Disciplins and Art and Politics, a new course on arts and political identity in the pre-modern Mediterranean area.

An art historian of Medieval and Byzantine art, her research interests focus mainly on artistic interexchange, on conflict and on cultural identities in the Medieval Mediterranean area, the relationship between visual cultures and public memory and the conceptions of light and the related artistic applications during the Middle Ages.

Concerning extra academic activities, says Professor Gerevini: "When I'm not working or visiting exhibitions and Medieval sites, I love dancing swing. I hope I can continue once in Milan!".
