Paolo Pin Uses Game Theory to Understand Social Dynamics

The new Associate Professor will start teaching at Universita' Bocconi starting from March 2016

The new entry of the Department of Decision Sciences Paolo Pin comes from the Università degli Studi di Siena, where he has been a researcher since 2008. In March 2016 he will start working at Università Bocconi as an Associate Professor.

Professor Pin's research concentrates on economic analysis of social networks using game theory models and data analysis. Other topics he is committed to include racial integration in American schools and immigration deportation policies.

Over the last ten years Professor Pin has held undergraduate, graduate and PhD courses in mathematics and economics at Università Ca' Foscari in Venice, Stanford University, Copenhagen University and Università degli Studi di Siena. He has been invited to present his research during seminars at conferences at the University of Sussex, at the Queen Mary University of London, at the Bank of Italy, at the North Eastern University of Boston, at the New York University, at Stanford, at Berkeley and at the European University Institute in Florence, as well as many other institutions. Since 2013 he has been a member of the Editorial Board of Journal of Economic Behaviour & Organization and of Journal of Socio-Economics.
