Julien Sauvagnat, a Financial Economics Scholar at Bocconi

, by Bojana Murisic
A PhD graduate from Toulouse School of Economics, the new assistant professor investigates shocks' transmission in firm networks

Julien Sauvagnat will be joining the Bocconi Department of Finance as an assistant professor after obtaining his Ph.D degree in Economics from Toulouse School of Economics. At Bocconi, Julien will teach several classes on corporate finance.

Julien's research focuses on financial economics and applied microeconomics. His recent work examines shocks' transmission and amplification in firm networks, as well as the impact of the confirmatory bias in financial markets.

With his cross-field profile, Julien hopes to collaborate with colleagues both in the Department of Economics and in the Department of Finance. "Being at Bocconi," he thinks "could also be a great opportunity to do research using data on Italian firms".

Julien will take breaks from his research and teaching by skiing somewhere in the Alps or Dolomites.
