The Perks of Being a Professor

THE AREAS OF INTEREST OF GABRIEL PEREIRA PUNDRICH, THE NEW ASSISTANT PROFESSOR OF THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING, ARE MANIFOLD

Auditing, financial reporting, disclosure frequency, analyst and management forecast, impairment, as well as high-tech, mining, oil and gas industry: these are the main areas upon which Gabriel Pereira Pündrich focuses his research. During the next academic year, besides teaching Accounting and financial statement analysis and Auditing, the new Assistant Professor of the Department of Accounting will be collaborating with other members of Bocconi faculty on auditing and mergers and acquisition projects. However, he is also very passionate about sports, from surfing and snowboarding to tennis and jiu-jitsu.

Following a BA and an MSc in Computer engineering, at PUC-RS in Brazil and at Politecnico di Milano respectively, Gabriel Pereira Pündrich obtained his PhD in Accounting from the University of Technology, Sydney, where he also taught Accounting for three years.

Gabriel, who worked as a consultant in the business intelligence sector and as an engineer in the field of research and development prior to the beginning of his PhD, is glad to start a new chapter at Bocconi: “The great aspect of being a researcher is that you never fall into the same routine. I am also excited to work as a professor: as a teacher, it is my duty to facilitate students’ careers, and it is very rewarding when you see them achieving their goals.”
