Carlo Garbarino, as a senior fellow, and Marco Bassini, as a fellow (both from Bocconi's Department of Legal Studies) are two of the eleven recipients of an Emile Noël Fellowship for 2016/2017 at New York University's Jean Monnet Center for International and Regional Economic Law & Justice.

The Emile Noël Fellowship is a "prestigious program whose principal objective is scholarship and the advancement of research on the themes of International Law", can be read in the Jeann Monnet Center's website. "It is a one-year program which allows to conduct research on European law, possibly with a Public law focus. The fellows present their research programs at faculty seminars and the final output is usually a paper, to be published in the Center's series", explains Bassini.

Among the activities of the Center there is a high-level annual Emile Noël Lecture, held by prominent members of the legal and political administration of the Union, asked to present their perspective of the "State of the (European) Union".
