A commission of 26 international economists chaired by Nobel Laureate Jean Tirole and IMF former Chief Economist, Olivier Blanchard, which is to advise French President Emmanuel Macron on climate, inequality and demography, took office on Friday 29 May, necessarily by videoconference.

Among the members of the commission is Valentina Bosetti, Full Professor of Environmental Economics at Bocconi, recently appointed President of Terna. She will work on climate change and sustainability issues.

The committee will deliver three thematic reports by the end of the year. It includes, among others, another Nobel Laureate, Joseph Stiglitz, and luminaries such as Philippe Aghion, Larry Summers and Paul Krugman.
