Tarricone Among the Experts Advising on the Evolution of the Health System in Lombardy

THE COMMITTEE WILL SUPPORT THE PRESIDENT OF THE REGION IN THE EVALUATION OF THE REFORM OF THE HEALTH SYSTEM IN LOMBARDY, FIVE YEARS AFTER ITS INTRODUCTION

Rosanna Tarricone, Associate Dean at SDA Bocconi School of Management and Associate Professor of Public Administration at Bocconi, is one of the five members of the  "Committee of Experts for the Evolution of the Health System in Lombardy", established yesterday by Governor Attilio Fontana. The other members are Alberto Mantovani, Scientific Director at Humanitas Clinical Institute, Giuseppe Remuzzi, Director at Mario Negri Institute, Gianluigi Spata, President of the Order of Medical Doctors in Lombardy, and Gianluca Vago, former Rector of the Milan University. “They are five authoritative, independent and nationally and internationally recognized personalities,” stressed Governor Fontana.

The Committee, operational in the coming days, will have two tasks. The first is to express an independent opinion and an evaluation of the procedures followed by the Lombardy Region in monitoring the coronavirus emergency.

The second is a careful evaluation of the Regional Law 23, which in 2015 reformed the health system in Lombardy. The then President of the Region, Roberto Maroni, set up a monitoring committee, which includes representatives of the Region and the Ministry of Health, with the intention of reviewing the reform after five years. The period expires in December 2020 and the new Committee of Experts will support President Fontana in identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the Lombardy health system.
