Giacinto Della Cananea to Chair the Commission on Tax Justice

THE BODY, SET UP YESTERDAY BY THE MINISTRIES OF JUSTICE AND OF ECONOMY AND FINANCE, WILL HAVE TO PRESENT A REFORM PROPOSAL BY JUNE 30

Giacinto Della Cananea, Full Professor of Administrative Law at Bocconi, has been called to chair the Interministerial Commission on Tax Justice, set up jointly yesterday by the Ministry of the Economy and Finance and the Ministry of Justice.

The 16-strong Commission will have to submit to the two ministers, by 30 June, 2021, a report on its works and proposals for action.

“Tax justice falls within the competence of the Ministry of Economy and Finance; the Ministry of Justice is involved on the front of the appeal in the Supreme Court, where tax litigation represents one of the main components of the accumulated backlog (50,000 pending appeals estimated at the end of 2020, with a percentage of reform of appeal decisions of 45%),” explain the two ministries in a release.
