Catherine De Vries in the 50 Influential Researchers List by Apolitical Foundation

A LIST OF SCHOLARS FROM AROUND THE WORLD WHOSE RESEARCH COULD HELP CULTIVATE REFLECTIVE, REPRESENTATIVE, AND INFORMED POLITICIANS

Catherine De Vries, Dean for Diversity & Inclusion and Professor of Political Science at Bocconi University, was nominated in the list of 50 Influential Researchers Whose Work Could Help Shape 21st Century Politicians by Apolitical Foundation.

Apolitical Foundation put together a list of 50 influential researchers from around the world, after exploring the research on how to best cultivate reflective, representative and informed politicians.

Professor De Vries, as a political scientist, examines some of the key challenges facing the European continent today.

In 2020, De Vries, together with Sara Hobolt, wrote the book Political Entrepreneurs: The Rise of Challenger Parties in Europe, which tries to understand how politicians can break through in politics and become successful political entrepreneurs. An excerpt can be read here on courtesy of the authors and the publisher.

Apolitical Foundation was established with the mission to cultivate trusted, ethical and courageous 21st century politicians who will deliver thriving democracies that work for people and the planet. Its guiding principles are: “We must protect democracy while renewing it. Facts and science matter. Our economy must work for all today and for future generations. Diversity is an asset.”
