THE CLARITY IN A MESSY WORLD SERIES IS FOR AN INTELLECTUALLY CURIOUS, INTERNATIONALLY ORIENTED AUDIENCE, EAGER TO GET TO THE ROOTS OF THE MOST CONFOUNDING ISSUES OF OUR TIME

Research can help us better understand the issues that seem to make the world we live in chaotic. In order to meet the needs of an intellectually curious, qualitatively demanding, international-oriented audience that is increasingly accustomed to being informed by audio, Bocconi is launching its first series of podcasts.

The first three episodes of Clarity in a Messy World are available from today on five platforms: Apple Podcasts, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Spreaker, and YouTube.

The series, presented by a professional speaker, coach, journalist and actor David Wayne Callahan, aims to get to the roots of the most confounding issues of our time through interviews with experts who will share their knowledge and insights based on solid research findings.

In the first three episodes of the series, Nicola Gennaioli guides us in understanding financial crises through the principles of behavioral economics; Catherine De Vries analyzes the rise of populist parties around the world and the consequences of the pandemic on their growth; Dirk Hovy helps us understand the world of algorithms, including the risks associated with their use.

Subsequent episodes will cover topics related to Bocconi's expertise in the broader social sciences: economics, management, law, political science, data science.

“The new initiative confirms Bocconi's desire to make the results of its research available to a wide audience on as many platforms and digital tools as possible,” says Rector Gianmario Verona, “so that anyone can have a solid base of scientific evidence to orient themselves and make decisions in an increasingly complex world.”

Podcasts are the latest of the tools and languages through which the public can learn about the results of Bocconi research. Articles, videos and infographics are already disseminated through the Bocconi Knowledge website, the online magazine viaSarfatti25 and the University's social media.
