Cutting Edge Topics of Private Law

ON THE OCCASION OF THE TWENTIETH ANNIVERSARY OF THE CLMG, A SERIES OF SEMINARS WILL DEAL WITH DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION AND BREXIT

As part of the celebrations for the 20th anniversary of the Integrated Master of Arts in Law (CLMG), a series of seminars on private law will be held. They will deal with cutting edge issues such as the digital revolution (algoritmic contracts, in particular) and Brexit.

The series kicked off today with a seminar by Marta Infantino (University of Trieste), on Algoritmic Torts in the United States, Europe and China. A Comparative Overview, with Francesco Mezzanotte (University Roma Tre) as a discussant.

On Wednesday 8 May it will be the turn of Mateja Durovic (The Dickinson Poon School of Law, King's College London), who will discuss the topic of English Contract Law after Brexit.

New technologies will be on the agenda again on Tuesday 18 June, with two guest speakers from Radboud University, André Jenssen and Pietro Ortolani, who will talk about Smart contracts: Contract Law in the Age of Artificial Intelligence and Automation.

Birke Häcker, Director, Institute of European and Comparative Law and Professorial Fellow of Brasenose College, Oxford, will conclude, on Monday, July 1, with a seminar on Contract and Conveyance: The Further Repercussions of Different Transfer Systems.
