Fellowships for Scholars Affected by the War in Ukraine

A CALL FOR UP TO THREE FELLOWSHIPS AT THE BOCCONI LAB FOR EUROPEAN STUDIES FOR POSTDOCTORAL CANDIDATES OF ANY NATIONALITY WHO ARE DIRECTLY AFFECTED BY THE WAR

BLEST, the Bocconi Lab for European Studies, offers up to three one-year postdoctoral fellowships, financed by Fondazione Invernizzi, for post-doctoral candidates at any stage of their career who were affected by the war in Ukraine.

The fellowships are open to candidates of any nationality who live in Ukraine, have been displaced or cannot return to Ukraine because of the war, or who are directly affected for other reasons that can be specified in the application.

“As part of our solidarity response, we not only have the UASI (Ukraine - Support and Information) support unit, which is working to produce accessible, practical and clear information for those arriving in Italy from Ukraine and for organizations in the refugee hospitality sector. But, we have also decided to contribute through this call, in order to support colleagues who have been displaced. Furthermore, the arrival of new colleagues from Ukraine will be a great enrichment for Bocconi’s academic community,” says Eleanor Spaventa, Director of the Lab and Scientific Coordinator of the Focus Ukraine project.

The applicants should work in the fields covered by the BLEST - Ukraine focus program.  The aim of the program is to consider the impact of the war in Ukraine on the EU and the relationship between Ukraine and the EU. The broad research framework allows candidates to freely set their own research agendas.

The deadline for application is 30 June 2022.

BLEST, funded by a donation from the Invernizzi Foundation, seeks to foster cross-disciplinary research and promote informed debate in European Studies so as to reach a more comprehensive understanding of the challenges faced by the European Union in years to come.
