Igor Pruenster Becomes an ASA Fellow

THE AMERICAN STATISTICAL ASSOCIATION HONORS WITH A FELLOWSHIP NO MORE THAN ONE THIRD OF ONE PERCENT OF ITS MEMBERS EACH YEAR

Igor Pruenster, Full Professor of Statistics at Bocconi’s Department of Decision Sciences and Director of the Bocconi Institute of Data Science and Analytics (BIDSA), has been selected as an American Statistical Association (ASA) Fellow. The fellowship is an honor reserved to no more than one-third of one percent of the total association membership each year. To be selected, nominees must have an established reputation and have made outstanding contributions to statistical science.

Prof. Pruenster has been selected for his groundbreaking contributions to the advances of Bayesian Nonparametrics, his dedicated mentoring of young researchers and his services to the profession.

This year’s class of fellows will be awarded on 30 July, 2019, in Denver during the ASA
Joint Statistical Meetings.

Established in 1839 in Boston, ASA is the world’s largest community of statisticians and the second oldest, continuously operating professional society in the US, with members serving in industry, government, and academia in more than 90 countries.
